Laboratory Engineer in Control and safety technology (m/f/d) - Reference Number: 15-2025 EI-LI LST -

The position primarily involves the following duties:

• Supervising and conducting laboratory practicals in the undergraduate electrical engineering program and in the LST department,
• Designing and collaborating on the development of laboratory equipment, as well as operating and maintaining the extensive LST laboratories,
• Active participation in knowledge transfer as part of the professional development programs for LST,
• Performing engineering tasks in the interest of the entire department, in particular assisting with the administration of the department’s IT infrastructure.

The following knowledge and skills are required:

• a completed university degree in the field of electrical engineering, automation technology, or control and safety technology,
• in-depth knowledge and professional experience in the fields of railway control and safety technology,
• knowledge and experience in the design and development of laboratory equipment for teaching purposes,
• university teaching skills, as well as
• solid, practical English language skills for conducting laboratory practicals in English.

In addition, the following are desirable:

• professional experience in the field of student training, as well as experience and knowledge of university teaching practices,
• experience working with computer hardware and software as well as microcomputer systems,
• professional experience in the design and development of laboratory equipment,
• knowledge of other foreign languages.
