A large-scale research center for water, energy and food with the participation of the HSZG is to offer solutions for global resource demands in the future. The "Future Factory Lausitz" was proposed to the Federal Ministry of Education and Research for this purpose, as previously reported here.

This is a model in which state-of-the-art technologies and principles of the circular economy are to be combined on a real scale in the water, energy and plant factory in order to drastically reduce the consumption of water, energy and usable land. The project will draw on the expertise and infrastructure available in Lausitz.

The aim of the strong alliance of Saxon scientific institutions and numerous supporters from industry and the region is to use the new "Future Factory Lausitz" to find pioneering solutions to challenges that are on the global agenda and are also particularly visible in the Saxon coalfield.

The project partners are delighted to now be able to publish the application video, which provides deeper insights into the "Zukunftsfabrik Lausitz".
