On April 29, Prof. Stefan Kornhuber of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science paid a working visit to the National Research University “Moscow Energy Institute” (NFU MEI). The goal was to revitalize the long-standing good relationships—and in particular, student and academic exchanges—and to explore future opportunities for collaboration.

As part of his visit, Prof. Stefan Kornhuber first gave a four-hour lecture on “Methods for Measuring Partial Discharges (Fundamentals and Applications)” for students at NFU MEI in the Department of Physics and Technology of Electrical Materials and Components. During the subsequent meeting with the head of the chair, Professor Serebrennikov, opportunities for collaboration between the MEI chair and the High-Voltage Engineering Department at HSZG—headed by Professor Kornhuber—were discussed.

In addition, a reception was held at the Department of International Relations at NFU MEI as part of the visit. NFU MEI was represented at the reception by the Director of the Center for International Educational Programs, Professor Zhelbakov, and the Coordinator of International Academic Programs and Projects, Ms. Irina Kulik. During the meeting, there was also a general discussion about potential areas of cooperation between the two universities in the field of electrical engineering. Several ideas for introducing academic mobility programs for students, faculty, and staff from both universities were proposed and are currently being developed in collaboration with the International Office at HSZG.
