"In the recent past, the relationship between art/culture and social transformation has increasingly become the focus of literary, cultural and social science research. This not only raises the question of how literary texts, artistic forms and media discourses represent, accompany and reflect the various transformation processes and experiences, but also to what extent they sometimes even initiate and drive them forward (or slow them down and block them). Lausitz appears to be an exemplary area in which the (political, social, economic, technical, etc.) upheavals and transformations of the 20th and 21st centuries are concentrated in a special way. The (artistic) perspectives on and manifestations of 'great transformations' can be paradigmatically explored on, in and with Lusatia and at the same time placed in the context of the question of life in the Anthropocene. What ideas and practices of transformation are and have been produced in and by literatures, arts and media using the example of Lausitz, and what knowledge of transformation is and has been developed and communicated in the process?"
