Nursing staff work at their limits every day. Too few staff, too much documentation, physically demanding work - and in the middle of it all, the big question: can robotics really help here? The answers you find in glossy brochures sound tempting. But what is actually behind them? And who actually asks the people who are ultimately affected?
This is exactly what this free workshop aims to find out - openly, honestly and together with those who work in care on a daily basis.
The afternoon is divided into two parts - information and discussion.
Part 1: What can robots really do today?
From lifting and positioning systems and medication dispensing to transport, cleaning and communication robots: Prof. Hans Böhme from the Technical University of Dresden will provide a clear overview of the current state of the art. What is already working reliably in day-to-day care? What is often promised - but does not deliver what it promises? Anyone who has had little to do with the subject so far will get a solid, honest introduction here.
Part 2: What would really help?
In the second part, the floor is yours. Because the crucial questions cannot be answered at your desk: What would actually make things easier in day-to-day care? Where are the limits - technical, legal, human? What hurdles stand in the way of sensible use, and what opportunities have hardly been exploited to date? These questions need your perspective.
Prof. Hans Böhme, Dresden University of Technology
Prof. Böhme has been researching at the interface of robotics, artificial intelligence and human assistance for many years. He not only brings scientific depth to the table, but also a keen sense of what technology can achieve - and where its limits lie. His aim is not to promote robotics, but to take an honest look at what is and what could be possible.
For anyone who works in the care sector or is interested in the topic - whether they are care professionals, care service managers, trainees, relatives or simply curious. No prior knowledge is required.
Free admission - catering included
You are welcome to bring colleagues with you - the more practical perspectives, the livelier the discussion.
