As part of the RENI project, a networking colloquium will be organized to facilitate communication on topics related to innovative composite materials and surface coatings. The program includes two interesting lectures by Czech experts from the Technical University of Liberec.
During the colloquium you will have the opportunity to meet participants from the Czech Republic and Germany. The event will be simultaneously translated online.
Composite materials play a key role in modern technology as they can combine the properties of different components into a single functional unit. They are mainly used in mechanical engineering, the automotive and aerospace industries, construction and electrical engineering. There they offer advantages such as high strength, low weight, chemical resistance and design flexibility. Due to their versatility, they are also used outside of industry, for example in dentistry, where they are used to reconstruct dental tissue or to manufacture dental prostheses. This presentation will give an overview of the technical applications of composites and their contribution to increasing efficiency, durability and functionality in various fields.
* The lecture will be streamed live from the Technical University of Liberec with CZ-DE translation.
Thin coatings are used to modify and optimize the properties of surfaces of certain materials. Research focuses on the application of magnetron sputtering as a modern method for depositing thin films on various materials, including polymers, glass, metals and textiles. The aim is to achieve functional surface modifications in order to optimize the mechanical, optical, electrical, biological or chemical properties according to the specific requirements of each application. Of particular interest are the peculiarities of sputtering on different substrates and the possible practical applications of this technology in industry and other research areas.
