"Not-anymore-not-yet: The strange mixture of a small town on the edge"

While the trend in the 1990s was called 'suburbia' and from the 2000s 'reurbanization', one could now (reinforced by pandemic influences) speak of a rediscovery of the rural. But how is the periphery equipped? The balancing act between attractive riches and unfortunate shortcomings, between the tried and tested and the new, between no longer and not yet is outlined using the small town of Weißwasser/O.L. as an example. Weißwasser is not Leipzig and certainly not Görlitz! Are we ready for this journey? The exchange will bring us closer to an answer.
