Structural change in Lausitz is being triggered by the energy transition and the move away from lignite, but goes far beyond this. In view of climate change, digital transformation processes and the region's difficult demographic trends, it encompasses the development of the economy, society and culture.

But how can these be conceived and shaped sustainably? What concepts and structures, as well as practical approaches, are needed and exist? Which topics have tended to be neglected to date? And what significance do gender relations, religion and civic participation have for such transformation processes?

This year's November conference of the TRAWOS Institute for Transformation, Housing and Social Spatial Development at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with WBS AG in Pommritz brings together scientists, politicians and practitioners to publicly discuss the transformation of Lausitz.
