Cultural policy researcher Zsuzsa Koltai is working in Görlitz as part of the Saxony Guest Researcher Program to clarify the question: How do we want to live together peacefully in the future?

The Faculty of Managerial and Cultural Studies at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences was successful in the Saxony Visiting Scholars Program. On November 10, our visiting professor, Zsuzsa Koltai—a cultural policy scholar at the University of Pécs—will introduce herself to the university community. She is conducting research in Görlitz on the topic of resilience-building, using the Upper Lusatian museum landscape as a case study, and will co-supervise the largest group of doctoral candidates at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (WKp—doctoral program in cultural policy).
Professor Koltai and her host, Prof. Matthias Theodor Vogt, can invite additional female researchers from around the world to participate in the program—from Germany, Poland, Austria, Georgia, Mongolia, Japan, Cameroon, and Uganda. Students and members of the public are cordially invited to the “Treffpunkt Interkulturalität, ” from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursdays, November 10 and December 8, in the Görlitz Auditorium at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences to discuss the opportunities and challenges of intercultural openness. Together with our partners—the City of Görlitz, Kulturraum, G.HH. Theater, the Senckenberg Museum, and the EuropaChorAkademie—we cordially invite you to join us for this exchange!
In his foreword, District Administrator Dr. Stephan Meyer emphasized: "The necessity of cross-border exchange for peaceful coexistence, especially in the field of art and culture, is beyond question, and the proof is provided every day by a glance at the newspaper. Here in the European City of Görlitz/Zgorzelec, you can experience at first hand how living together across borders can work, what obstacles there are, what challenges we face and what contribution art and culture can make. By meeting to develop strategies together, you will be making a valuable contribution to the further development of our society, which could not be more aptly described in the announcement of this event: 'The seminar is aimed at all those who care about the future of our human coexistence in peace and mutual understanding'. Because it is about nothing less than that: How do we want to live together peacefully in the future?"
