Surveys are a helpful tool for collecting data. They can be relevant for theses or research projects, but also in the start-up context. Many start-ups and prospective founders conduct small surveys to measure interest in their product, obtain suggestions for improvement and find out potential customers' willingness to pay. However, there are many hurdles to designing a successful survey and small mistakes can lead to skewed results and worthless data.
The first part deals with the design of surveys:
- What questions should the survey answer?
- Which survey form is the right one for my project?
- How should good questions be formulated?
- What do I need to pay attention to in order not to influence participants?
- When is my survey actually "representative"?
The second part deals with the statistical analysis options for the data obtained:
- What statistical measures are there?
- How are mean values, medians etc. calculated?
- How can I use the survey data to answer my questions?
This provides participants with a solid and practical basis for conducting surveys independently and avoiding common mistakes from the outset.
The course is aimed at (potential) founders as well as anyone who is considering conducting their own surveys, for example for their Bachelor's or Master's thesis. No prior knowledge is required to take part in this workshop.
