When discussing current or generally relevant topics, rhetorical, argumentative and analytical skills are trained and new knowledge or insights are created at the same time.
Agenda:
The first session will provide an introduction to the art of debating. In addition, we will discuss the structure of debates and introduce the debate club, its structure, and its goals. Following the theoretical portion, there will be a round of “open discussion.” The topic for this session has not yet been determined; instead, participants will select it from a list of possible topics. Finally, important decisions regarding the future of the debate club will be addressed. This step will focus particularly on setting specific dates and determining the agenda for upcoming meetings.
Where & How:
The meeting will take place via “Zoom”; registered participants will receive an access link via email no later than one hour before the meeting.
Participants:
Interested students from the Faculty of Social Sciences at HSZG who would like to try their hand at debating and exchange ideas.

The duration of the event depends on the number of participants and their level of engagement. To ensure a pleasant atmosphere, breaks may be scheduled as needed.
