Citizens meet science - For a coffee with the researcher

Have you always wanted to know what the researchers at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences are up to?

Look over their shoulders, ask questions during a conversation, dig deeper, and find out what challenges and opportunities exist? What benefits their research brings to our region?

This year, for the first time, we’re offering the opportunity to do just that—in a very small group, right in the research lab. Over coffee and a slice of cake, you’ll get a closer look at the largest research institution in Upper Lusatia and get to know it in a very vivid and hands-on way.

In small groups of up to 10 people, you’ll have the chance to talk directly with the researchers, so it’s worth reserving your spot early.

Zittau Power Plant Laboratory

You’ll experience:

• large-scale steam-powered plant research, including research on improving the efficiency and flexibility of power plants and on the continued use of power plants following the phase-out of lignite
• Heat storage for buildings; magnetic bearings for rotating machinery

Address: Schliebenstraße 1, 02763 Zittau

This event is organized through the Saxony5 project in collaboration with our partner, the Dreiländereck Adult Education Center. We thank the Institute for Process Automation, Process Engineering, and Measurement Technology at HSZG for opening the power plant laboratory to us and providing guidance.

Participation is free of charge.
