About the degree program

Society and the economy are changing. Digitalization, sustainability and new ways of working are fundamentally changing organizations. The Master's in Culture and Transformation Management qualifies you to shape these change processes. You will learn how to strategically plan transformations, manage cultural projects and lead people through change.

What you can expect on the course

The degree program combines three areas of expertise:

  • Transformation and management: change management, sustainable corporate design, leadership and legal aspects
  • Culture and cultural management: management of the cultural sector, cultural policy, aesthetics and current art and cultural formats
  • Interdisciplinary skills: Empirical social research, social psychology, personal development and resilience

A special focus is on the use of artificial intelligence in transformation projects. Media and communication management and the development of business plans complete your profile.

Course content

The course lasts four semesters and combines management-oriented modules with cultural studies content. In the first semester, you will lay the foundations in transformation and change management as well as sustainable corporate design. At the same time, you will study cultural policy, cultural economics and the management of the cultural sector.

The second semester deepens your methodological and communication skills:

  • Media and communication management
  • Methods of empirical social research
  • Social psychology and personality development
  • Legal aspects of transformation

In addition, you will develop business plans and explore aesthetics and creativity. The research and project workshop will help you develop your own project ideas. In the third semester, you can choose between a semester abroad at a partner university or a practical project in an organization of your choice. The fourth semester is dedicated to your Master's thesis. Here you will combine scientific analysis with practical issues.

Cultural management

You manage cultural institutions such as theaters, museums or festivals. You are responsible for program planning, public relations and financing and develop new event formats.

Corporate Communications

You shape the internal and external communication of organizations. You will develop communication strategies, manage media campaigns and strengthen the brand identity.

Sustainability management

You develop concepts for sustainable corporate management. You analyze ecological and social impacts and support the implementation of sustainability strategies.

Project management

You manage complex projects in culture, business or public administration. You coordinate teams, monitor budgets and ensure that projects are implemented on time.

Organizational development

You advise companies on the further development of their structures and processes. You moderate workshops, support team development and promote a sustainable work culture.
