The Master's degree program in International Tourism Management prepares you specifically for management tasks in the global tourism industry. In an industry that is characterized by continuous change and intercultural challenges, you will develop the necessary skills to design innovative tourism concepts and implement sustainable strategies. With a strong international focus, you will qualify for challenging positions in one of the world's largest economic sectors.

A compulsory semester abroad at one of our numerous partner universities in Europe - from Poland and the Czech Republic to Finland, France, Spain and Italy - will broaden your intercultural horizons and your international network.

Course content

The Master's degree course in International Tourism Management is designed for four semesters and combines business expertise with tourism-specific content and intercultural skills. The degree program has a modular structure and systematically leads you to a comprehensive qualification for international management tasks.

In the first semester, you will acquire basic knowledge in areas such as business planning, personnel management in an international context and future-oriented mobility. You will deal with methods of staging and sustainable corporate planning. The second semester deepens your knowledge with modules such as product development for tourism markets, digital communication strategies and international business law. The future workshop gives you space to develop innovative concepts for the tourism industry. You will spend the third semester abroad and expand your language skills, cultural competencies and professional perspectives at one of our partner universities. In a research seminar, you will also prepare for your Master's thesis, which you will complete in the fourth semester.

Admission requirements

Admission to the consecutive Master's degree program in International Tourism Management requires a degree of at least three years (corresponding to at least 180 ECTS points) with a university degree qualifying for a profession.

Applicants for the Master's program should also have the following professional and social qualifications:

  • special interest in the global tourism industry
  • English language skills at level B of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
  • Interest in different cultures and languages
  • Eagerness to communicate
  • Willingness to work internationally
  • Ability to work in a team
