If you’ve completed a HTL, HLW, HLT, HAK, or Kolleg program, you can shorten your studies with us by up to three semesters—all while working!

(1) To be admitted to a degree program at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, applicants must meet the admission requirements set forth in § 18 of the Saxon Higher Education Act (SächsHSG) and in the university’s regulations for admission. Admission generally requires a general higher education entrance qualification, a subject-linked university entrance qualification, a university of applied sciences entrance qualification, or a relevant Meister qualification. Successful completion of the entrance examination pursuant to § 18 (5) of the Saxon Higher Education Act (SächsHSG) also qualifies an applicant to study at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.

(2) In addition to the admission requirements under paragraph 1, applicants should hold a qualifying degree

• from a vocational higher education institution for business professions (HLW);
• a vocational higher education institution for tourism professions (HLT);
• a commercial academy (HAK);
• a business college;
• a Higher Technical School (HTL) or an HTL college;
• the Technical High School for Tourism/Business in South Tyrol or the South Tyrol Business Schools, or
• hold a state-certified degree in business administration.

The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences decides on eligibility for recognition upon application by the cooperation partner, the IBS Academy. The recognition of other relevant degrees is subject to a case-by-case review.

(3) If the admission requirements specified in paragraphs 1 and 2 are met, up to 60 credits (hereinafter referred to as ECTS credits) will be recognized for the part-time, work-integrated “AI Management” Bachelor’s degree program in accordance with § 23(3) of the examination regulations. Such achievements are listed on the degree certificate under “3. Other Achievements” and are not included in the (overall) grade.

(4) If fewer than 60 ECTS credits are recognized, the missing competencies must be made up through corresponding modules. Proof of completion is a prerequisite for admission to the final module.

The AI Management degree programme at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences prepares graduates to take on key roles in a wide range of professional fields that require a combination of in-depth management skills and specialized knowledge in artificial intelligence.

About ten modules cover management topics, with a focus on artificial intelligence. How does AI influence human resources management through human factors and human-machine interaction? How is AI-based project management carried out?

Ten additional modules deal exclusively with artificial intelligence and aim to teach the new skill requirements resulting from the use of learning systems.

In other words, the degree programme is designed to enable future leaders to fully harness the potential of corporate data, optimize production processes, implement flexible order management and learning systems within the company, and thereby effectively manage AI-supported processes.

In addition, there are complementary modules such as Research Methods & AI Tools, Stochastics/Descriptive and Inductive Statistics, Law & AI, AI Ethics, and Technology Impact Assessment.

Graduates of this degree programme are particularly well-equipped to lead and innovate in the following core areas of expertise.

• 1st through 3rd semesters: Foundational courses (courses that may count toward degree requirements)
• 4th semester: Fundamentals of Statistics and Stochastics, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Mathematical Foundations, Supply Chain Management
• 5th semester: Deep Learning, Smart Innovation Management, Human Factors, and Human-Machine Interaction
• 6th semester: Law & AI, Computer Vision, AI Ethics, Technology Impact Assessment, and XAI
• 7th semester: Natural Language Processing, Communication & Conflict Management, Cutting-Edge Research and Technological Innovation
• 8th Semester: Security Management/Cybersecurity, Research Seminar, Bachelor thesis, and Defense

The degree programme is designed to enable future leaders—specifically, AI managers—to fully harness the potential of business processes and models, product features and innovations, as well as corporate data, implement machine learning systems within the company, and thereby effectively manage AI-supported processes.

30 monthly installments of 278 euros each
18 monthly installments of 460 euros each
3 installment payments of 2,670 euros each
One-time payment of 7,999 euros

In addition, there is a one-time registration fee of 499 euros and an exam fee of 500 euros for the bachelor’s thesis defense.

The total tuition fees are tax-deductible in all cases—up to 55% depending on income.

The AI Management degree programme is both system-accredited and accredited by ASIIN. The degree programme has also undergone a registration process by AQ Austria in accordance with Section 4(3) of the § 27 Registration Regulation 2024. The decision regarding the registration of the degree programs does not imply a determination of equivalence with Austrian degree programs and corresponding Austrian (academic) degrees. The degree programs and (academic) degrees are considered to be those of the country of origin or the country where the institution is based (Germany).

Equivalence in higher education between Germany and Austria was already established in 2003 through a bilateral agreement.

Pursuant to § 4(4) of the § 27 Registration Regulation 2024, educational institutions are required to to provide information in writing, as part of their public presence in Austria and for the duration of the registration’s validity, that in the event the Board of AQ Austria revokes the registration decision, the degree programme(s) may no longer be offered in Austria.

Through the accreditation process, the additional registration process (during which the degree programmes are reviewed once again), and the strict requirements, you are assured the highest possible level of security and the guarantee of a high-quality degree programme.
