What's special: This course is optionally available as a cooperative KIAdirekt course. This means you work in a company (the cooperation partner) and earn money. The KIAdirekt variant at our university is explained in more detail here.

You can complete the Bachelor's degree in computer science in 6 semesters. Or you can opt for a practice-integrated part of the course in the KIAdirekt concept. This starts as early as September with 4 weeks of practical experience in a company.

What is KIAdirekt?

KIAdirekt is a practice-integrated study model. It effectively combines theory and practice and is supported by the Saxon state government and leading companies.

You apply the knowledge you have acquired through practical work in the internship semester and in the company. The compulsory elective modules allow you to specialize further according to your preferences. Details

Course content

Detailed study plan

The Bachelor's degree in computer science is designed for 6 semesters and is divided into basic and specialization studies. In the first three semesters, you will acquire the necessary basic knowledge: from mathematical fundamentals and programming paradigms to software engineering and databases. You will get to know various programming languages and concepts and develop a deep understanding of operating systems and networks.

Your individual specialization phase begins in the fourth semester. Here you can specialize according to your personal interests - be it in web engineering, mobile computing, artificial intelligence, computer graphics or embedded systems. The fifth semester offers you further options and deepens your knowledge in IT security and software engineering. In the final sixth semester, you will complete a practical project and complete your Bachelor's thesis, in which you will apply the skills you have acquired and work scientifically.
