The artist and university employee Ramona Böhme is presenting parts of her work to date until May 25, 2018.
Ramona Böhme was born in Zittau in 1982 and only began devoting herself to painting a few years ago. After completing a commercial apprenticeship (1999-2002), she completed her Abitur (2002-2005) and later studied computer science at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (2005-2008).
Hraefn Wulfson, a friend and also an artist himself, encouraged her to explore, develop and express her artistic abilities. Her subjects vary from still lifes to portraits to impressions from nature spiced with a connection to her personal perception and view on life. Works by living artists such as Brad Kunkle, Yoann Lossel, Joe Fenton, Roberto Ferri, Cesar Santos, Oda & Kit King and Alessandra Maria inspire her work, as well as works by historical masters of Romanticism and Symbolism, Luis Ricardo Falero, Caravaggio, Jean Delville, William-Adolphe Bouguereau and Dino Valls.
As a single mother and working full-time, Ramona Böhme only finds time to work in the evenings. Oil paints, metal pigment paint, gold, silver and copper leaf are her preferred materials.
The exhibition in the University Library in Zittau, Hochwaldstr. 12, is open to all visitors during opening hours until May 25, 2018.
