Zukunftsvisionen is a festival for contemporary art that is now taking place in Görlitz for the 11th time in a row. It is organized on a voluntary basis by dedicated HSZG students who, alongside their studies, prepare a vacant building in the city to present an art exhibition. This year, the team is made up of students from the Bachelor's and Master's degree course "Culture and Management" and the Bachelor's degree course "Social Work" and the event is intended to draw attention to decay and vacancy, provide a platform for artists from Germany and beyond and bring new life to the city. It also aims to encourage visitors to indulge in their dreams and illusions under the motto "illusionen.verfallen".This year, the festival will take place from 20 to 27 May in the old Jewish department store Totschek at Steinstraße 2-5 on Obermarkt. The building has been empty since the middle of the 20th century, except for the exhibition of antique furniture, but not for long! Soon there will not only be an exhibition of around 20 artists, but also workshops on topics such as poetry slam, improvisational theater, body painting and juggling, barbecue and bar evenings, a reading of real Görlitz legends, live performances by bands and DJs and much more!
Mannequins in Görlitz: "If you were out and about in Görlitz city center on Saturday, 24.04.2017, you might have seen them - the ZUKUNFTSVISIONEN2017 mannequins. From the train station down Berliner Straße to Steinstraße, this year's ZuVi house, the project team, dressed in all shades of blue, made their way through the city. At four locations, the team created a four-minute still image with banners and posters - including interested and confused looks. We had a lot of fun and now hope to have drawn attention to the festival and the crowdfunding on Startnext through the flash mob campaign!"
Anyone who would like to support the project today still has the opportunity to do so until May 6! The team is currently running a crowdfunding campaign on www.startnext.com/zuvi17 to raise funds for the transport of the artworks, payment of the artists performing in the supporting program and the water and electricity supply, for example. Supporters can donate amounts of their choice to the project, in return for which they will receive admission tickets, shirts or even extravagant gifts such as a photo shoot in the ZuVi House or an exclusive candlelight dinner!
