As part of the major Objective 3 project "Saxon-Czech Library Network - Information without Borders", the first workshop on the topic of "Electronic Media" took place on February 13, 2014 at the University Library in Zittau.

The four institutions involved in the project took part:
- the University Library of Chemnitz University of Technology,
- the University Library of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (Západočeská univerzita v Plzni - Univerzitní knihovna),
-the Scientific Library in Liberec (Krajská vědecká knihovna v Liberci) and
- the University Library of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.

The expert presentations on the various platforms for electronic books given by the speakers from Missing Link, Ebsco and Schweitzer Fachinformation were discussed. The aim of this discussion was to find a suitable platform for e-books for all partners. This would make a wider range of e-books available to all users of the participating libraries. The discussions also focused on the establishment of a cross-border "catalog" and initial considerations on issues of "law and electronic media". Project staff from the University Library gave presentations on both topics.

The next workshop will take place at Pilsen University Library in April 2014.
