Following the 1st workshop on electronic media at the University Library of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, the 2nd workshop was held at the University Library of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen on April 16, 2014. The University Library of Chemnitz University of Technology, the University Library of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (Univerzitní knihovna Západočeské univerzity v Plzni), the Academic Library in Liberec (Krajská vědecká knihovna v Liberci) and the University Library of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences met as part of the Objective 3 project "Saxon-Czech Library Network - Information without Borders".
The event was opened by Dr. Faitová, director of the local university library. In the first specialist lecture, Dr. Richter, Director of the Library Institute of the National Library of the Czech Republic, presented his lecture on Czech law in the field of electronic media.

Ms. Katolická from the host library spoke about the availability and financing of e-media in the Czech Republic, particularly at the University of West Bohemia. Mr. Busch (HSZG) followed with the topic "Law and the development of national licenses to alliance licenses". His presentation on electronic media in German copyright law usefully complemented the previous presentation on "Czech copyright law and the treatment of e-media".
The second part of the event was dominated by organizational and work-related topics. Mr Slaby from the Chemnitz University Library reported on the preparations and organizational matters for the Chemnitz Bibotag in May 2014. In the further course of the working meeting, various aspects of the creation of consortial usage solutions for e-book platforms were discussed in our project.
Mr. Jarema (HSZG) introduced the last topic area with the presentation "Introduction of a shared catalog". Information on the current status of the discussion of the technical feasibility of a joint union catalog with a bilingual user interface was presented. The project partners confirmed the correctness of the compiled requirements for a hypothetical solution. Subsequent discussion on this topic was the last point of the workshop.
Before the degree of the event was reached, findings and experiences from the trial week in Chemnitz were reported.
