The migration includes the move to a new hardware platform including the replacement of the majority of WLAN access points installed at the HSZG. Between 01.03. and 17.03.2023, this may result in selective failures in the WLAN supply, especially in the areas where access points are replaced on site (Görlitz site: 9th week, Zittau/IHI 10th and 11th week). Wi-Fi coverage will be maintained for planned events during this period.
With the new "Wi-Fi 6" technology, the Wi-Fi infrastructure will be brought up to the latest technical standard in order to meet the increased requirements for availability and quality and to ensure simple, secure and fast Wi-Fi access in the future, especially in areas with high utilization.
The HRZ will be happy to receive suggestions as to which areas may still have inadequate WLAN coverage in terms of reception or performance after the changeover and will then examine further expansion in line with requirements.
