At the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG), Institute for Transformation, Housing and Social Spatial Development (TRAWOS), a position (20 hours/week) is available at the earliest possible date within the framework of the Professorship Program III (PP III) funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the federal states as a

 

Research Assistant PP III (m/f/d)

to be filled for a limited period until 30.06.2026.

PP III promotes the increased participation of women in the science system, in particular the sustainable integration of the talents and potential of good qualified, predominantly younger women and their motivation to pursue career paths. This is intended to make an important contribution to gender equality in science and research at German universities and to specifically increase the proportion of female professors. In this context, the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences aims to strengthen gender and diversity research with particular reference to peripheral rural areas in the coming years and intends to establish related organizational structures.

 

The post holder (m/f/d) will be responsible for the following tasks in particular:

  • Scientific tasks for the conceptualization, preparation, implementation and evaluation of equality and diversity policy programs and measures at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and in the region,
  • Scientific contributions to the conceptualization and organizational support of the development of gender and diversity research at the HSZG,
  • Preparation and implementation of own gender and/or diversity research as well as transfer services in coordination with the project manager, and preparation of independent publications in the research and transfer field,
  • proactive participation
    • in applying for future projects in the research and transfer field,
    • in project reports and publications
  • organizational support in project management.

 

 

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • At least a good academic degree in a social or cultural science program (univ. Master's degree, state examination, accred. Master's degree from a university of applied sciences or equivalent degree),
  • A strong interest in, knowledge of and initial experience in gender equality and diversity policy issues as well as gender and diversity research,
  • experience in applying for or carrying out research or transfer projects (e.g. as a student or research assistant, in the context of qualification work or as a research assistant),
  • good English language skills (written and spoken).

 

In addition In addition are desirable

  • Experience in knowledge transfer - if possible with reference to gender and diversity aspects and in the context of higher education and research institutions,
  • Knowledge of and, if possible, (research) experience with rural areas in Eastern Germany,
  • knowledge of an East-Central European language (preferably Polish or Czech).

  • Willingness and interest in further professional and personal development.
  • a high degree of enthusiasm and openness for interdisciplinary, academic work and research, an independent, flexible and goal-oriented way of working,
  • very good written expression and analytical thinking skills,
  • Willingness to participate in meetings and conferences.
Further information

The remuneration for tariff employees is up to EG 13 TV-L if the professional requirements are met. The 1st place of work is Görlitz. A probationary period will be agreed.
