"How do we want to live in Lausitz in 2030?"

The second Generation Dialogue took place from June 22 to June 24, 2023 on the Görlitz campus of Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.

The second Generation Dialogue took place on the Görlitz campus of Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences from June 22 to June 24, 2023. Under the title "How do we want to live in Lausitz in 2030?", young and old met to discuss topics such as work, family, housing, commitment and social interaction.

There was a surprisingly high level of interest in the event, which the organizers had not anticipated. Almost 200 participants met over the course of the three days, which meant that the aim of the event was achieved in a very fruitful way. The participants had a very lively exchange of ideas about possible impulses for the future development of the region. Many participants expressed their desire for a continuation of this exchange opportunity afterwards.

We would like to thank all participants for this very successful event as well as all speakers, companies and associations who contributed to its implementation with great commitment. We would also like to thank the German Children and Youth Foundation, which planned and organized the first day of the Generation Dialogue. We would also like to express our special thanks to the Saxon State Commissioner for Senior Citizens and the Saxon State Ministry for Social Affairs and Social Cohesion, without whose initiative this event would not have been possible. We would also like to thank the Brandenburg State Senior Citizens' Representative, whose participation and presence brought a cross-state perspective to the event and allowed us to focus on Lausitz as a whole.
