Wine tourism on the doorstep: A Lower Silesian-Saxon wine and pleasure route

Wine tourism in the region is to be promoted: With the research project "Binational cooperation in tourism with regard to the development of a Lower Silesian-Saxon wine and pleasure route", our faculty is investigating the current status. In this article, you can find out how the wine and gourmet route is progressing.

Wine tourism - a wine route for regional wine lovers

The Faculty of Managerial and Cultural Studies, represented by Dr. phil. Ewa Wieszczeczyńska, Prof. Dr. Ute Pflicke and Dr. phil. habil. Maik Hosang, are pursuing the goal of giving wine tourism a cross-border opportunity in our region with the research project "Binational cooperation in tourism with regard to the development of a Lower Silesian-Saxon wine and gourmet route".

The research project, which has been running since September 2021, was developed in collaboration with regional players active in Polish-German cooperation: the Silesian Museum in Görlitz and the COOLINARIA wine and food fair, which is now taking place for the third time this year from 24-26 June 2021. You can find more detailed information about COOLINARIA on their homepage. The aim is to pick up on current trends to develop new tourism products for Lower Silesian and Saxon winegrowers. In addition, with the help of colleagues from other faculties, the aim is to promote the exchange of experiences between winegrowers on the subject of wine and enjoyment and thus make a small contribution to the popularization of wine tourism in both regions. Ultimately, it is also about sharpening the focus on the respective neighboring country and getting to know each other better.

The first results will be presented on 24.6.2022 on the occasion of the COOLINARIA from 3 p.m. in the Benigna in Görlitz.
