Forest(ing) life

Book recommendations for the Day of the Forest

When was the last time you took a breath of fresh forest air?

On March 21, the "International Day of Forests", the United Nations reminds us of the value of forests and calls for their sustainable use. The global forest cover of almost 30% of the earth's surface is shrinking continuously. Forests need protection from destruction caused by climatic events and deforestation. Its importance goes far beyond its economic value: the forest is a habitat for numerous animal and plant species, it contributes to ecological stabilization and combating the climate crisis and, last but not least, it is a place of recreation and retreat for us humans.

Our book recommendations range from educational and ecological benefits to philosophical thoughts on the forest.
