The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences, is seeking to fill a temporary professorship (W2)
in the field of
Methods of Empirical Social Research
Reference Number: 48-2024 – SW-063V (m/f/d)
A fixed-term position is available starting September 1, 2024, for the duration of the temporary appointment, but no later than August 31, 2026,
on a part-time basis (0.5 FTE).
The position involves serving as a substitute for the Chair of in the aforementioned field of appointment in teaching and research, with a particular focus on the following areas:
- Quantitative methods in empirical social research,
- Applied methods and fundamentals of statistics in research and teaching.
The field of appointment is to be covered in lectures, seminars, exercises, internships, and projects, as well as in continuing education, particularly in the degree programmes of the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Managerial and Cultural Studies.
Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences places particular emphasis on the quality of teaching. Applicants must describe their teaching experience and their approach to teaching. Classes / courses should also be able to be taught in English when necessary. Furthermore, the ability and willingness to participate in integrative, practice-oriented, and internship-based teaching units are required.
The following knowledge and skills are required
- a relevant academic degree from a university,
- demonstrated pedagogical aptitude in teaching or training,
- a particular aptitude for academic work,
- teaching experience at the college or university level, and
- good English language skills.
