Dear users of the university network,

This morning there was a 2-hour outage of the university network services. During planned work on the electrical power supply in building Z V, which did not affect the central server room, there was an unforeseen failure of the UPS system for the cooling system of the central IT systems. At the same time, a fault in the separate room cooling system prevented it from restarting automatically. As a result of the overheating, the central servers and storage systems then shut down automatically.

Following immediate measures to reduce the high temperatures, all systems were gradually put back into operation.

In the meantime, all important services should be running normally again. The responsible HRZ employees are continuing to monitor the systems for any irregularities in operation.
