Tourism companies in NEISSELAND put to the test

Mystery check by students of the tourism management course WTb14

On behalf of the NEISSELAND Tourist Association, students in class WTb14 carried out a mystery check last winter semester as part of the workshop on the "Work and Leisure Society" module under the guidance of their professor Ute Pflicke.
The students had the task of evaluating hotels, guesthouses and leisure providers from Bad Muskau to Görlitz for their service quality and appearance. To do this, they made various inquiries and checked, among other things, availability, speed of response, accuracy of content and friendliness of the answers as well as the website from the guest's point of view. Inquiries were made in German, English and Polish.
The evaluation was based on previously defined evaluation criteria using an evaluation form.
On June 15, 2015, the students presented their approach and the results in detail to the entrepreneurs at Erlichthof Rietschen. Afterwards, they answered questions from tourism professionals and discussed ways to further improve service quality.
According to the Chairman of TGG NEISSELAND e.V., Wolfgang Michel, the check revealed reserves even though the last mystery check carried out two years ago showed an increase in the service quality of the participating companies. It is essential to address these as part of the further improvement of offers, particularly in view of the increased demands of guests and the increase in competition between destinations. For this reason, Mr. Michel asked the students to continue to support the tourism development of the district with further projects in the future.
At the end of the event, the students proudly accepted their certificates for the first project of their studies, which had been received with gratitude from the field.
