Prof. Dr. Otar Abesadze from the Georgian National University SEU Tbilisi was invited to present his current research project.
Prof. Dr. Otar Abesadze from the Georgian National University SEU Tbilisi is a guest of the Faculty of Management and Cultural Sciences at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences in October 2021. He is researching cultural heritage by comparing the situation of Svaneti in the High Caucasus, which is already on the UNESCO World Heritage List, with the situation of Görlitz, which is seeking to be inscribed on the World Heritage List with its hall houses.
Since 2009, the faculty has had many links with Georgia, particularly in the degree courses "Tourism Management" and "Culture and Management". Various excursions and summer schools have taken students to one of the most fascinating countries in the Council of Europe. In the current winter semester 2021/22, two of our Master's students are studying in Tbilisi on DAAD scholarships and report on the outstanding hospitality and the opportunity to carry out individual research projects.
