Two married couples meet in a house on the shore of the lake. Their expressions are tense, their mood strangely tense. Both couples look back on a shared past that will not let them go. What happened on that day four years ago when the world changed completely for all of them? Together, they venture back to those events and have to confront a truth that has the potential to break people apart.
Dea Loher uncovers a secret that connects the characters with a keen sense of subtlety. Gradually, the four have to ask themselves to what extent they themselves are perhaps to blame for their misfortune. Could they have averted it? "Am Schwarzen See" is an intense intimate play about coming to terms with one's own past.
