Good news from the research focus "Materials-oriented recycling of NFRP waste" (IP1/FSP2): Laboratory injection molding machine ready for use! Injection molding of tensile test specimens or prototypes of small components possible.
The retrofitting of the machine with a mixing nozzle is still being planned for the current project phase in order to be particularly well equipped for the injection molding of composite materials. This ensures a more homogeneous mixing of additives such as dyes or short-fiber, recycled natural fibers.
There are also plans to recommission a measuring extruder from the laboratory stock in order to be able to cover another division in the life cycle of natural fiber-reinforced plastics in-house.
