On Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 5 p.m., the University Choir of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences will hold its end-of-semester concert in the auditorium on Furtstraße in Görlitz. The concert is entitled "Tell me, is it love?" - a quote from an aria in Mozart's opera "The Marriage of Figaro".

The "Zigeunerlieder" op. 103 by Johannes Brahms for soloists, choir and piano will be performed. Between the individual songs of the choral cycle, selected soloists from the choir who have already proven themselves in many concerts will sing solo arias and duets from operas by Giovanni Legrenzi, from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Figaro's Wedding" and "Don Giovanni", duets from the cycle "Moravian Melodies" by Antonin Dvorak, the song cycle "Dichterliebe" by Robert Schumann and finally songs by Neithard Bethke from the "Jahrkreis" op. 69.

The overall direction is in the hands of Prof. Dr. Neithard Bethke, who also accompanies his singers on the piano. Experience from several concerts shows that due to the very good attendance of the popular concert performances of the university choir, only a timely arrival guarantees a seat. Detailed admission programs are available at the box office. Admission is free. A collection is requested to cover the costs.
