Review - 10 years of photography

Exhibition opening of the Zittau photographer Peter Hennig in the University Library in Zittau

Exhibition opening on October 13, 2014, 1 p.m., Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, presentation room of the University Library, Hochwaldstr. 12 in Zittau

Zittau photographer Peter Hennig is presenting a cross-section of his photographic and artistic work at the University Library in Zittau. The majority of his works show landscapes that can be seen as HDR images (High Dynamic Range - high contrast). Visitors to the exhibition can also discover structures, patterns, architectural lines, plays of color and the unusual.

About the artist:

Peter Hennig lives and works in Zittau. After an accident at work, he became self-employed (www.oberlausitzfoto.de) and has been working as a photographer, image editor and freelance lecturer for over ten years. In addition to his landscape photography, he experiments a lot, also with different software, and often looks for motifs in urban environments. He likes places, buildings, objects and faces that show traces of a life.

He worked as a guest artist at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences in the 2013/14 academic year. By using different shooting techniques, unusual locations or subsequent alienation using image processing software, the objects were to be placed in a new context from their previous self-evidence. He worked as a photographer on an extensive project for the university, in which he took pictures in the faculties for the university's public relations department. In the summer semester, the artist worked with students from the

in several workshops on the topic of "Epoch Threshold 1914: The Beginning of the First World War 100 Years Ago". He also presented the technique of photo editing as part of a lecture at the university's Seniorenkolleg.

Incidentally, this is not his first exhibition. His work has already been shown at the Leibnitz Institute for Polymer Research Dresden, the Zittau housing association, the Galeriecafé Ambiente Zittau, the Haus des Gastes Oybin and Hainewalde Castle.

The exhibition is open to all visitors until February 2015 during the opening hours of the
