Test requirements for high-voltage cables

The CIRED working group consists of international experts, Germany is represented by Professor Haim from the HSZG.

During the last CIRED conference in Glasgow in June 2017, the CIRED technical committee decided to set up an international working group to define a harmonized test requirement for the shield contacts of high-voltage cables.

CIRED stands for "CONGRES INTERNATIONAL DE RESEAUX ELECTRIQUES DE DISTRIBUTION" and, with well over 1000 participants from more than 50 countries, is the world's largest and most important conference on electrical distribution networks. It takes place every two years in different European cities.

The newly founded "Working Group 2017-1 "Test recommendation for ground screen power cable connections" with cable experts from 11 countries now had a kick-off meeting in Oslo, where the work steps for the next two years until the completion of a test recommendation were coordinated. The participating countries in this working group are: Norway (head of the working group), Germany, France, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Australia, Iran, China, Croatia, Sweden and South Korea.
