Dear students,

From April 20-22, a festival will take place in Ostritz, between our two university campuses, at which neo-Nazis and members of the right-wing scene will celebrate to music and martial arts with well-known speakers.

We hereby clearly declare that we consider human rights, diversity and individual freedom to be an inalienable right. There is no room for xenophobia, discrimination and blind black-and-white thinking at our cosmopolitan university. We are therefore clearly in favor of our university slogans "Studying without borders" and "Diversity as strength".

We consider the many peaceful initiatives to be very important and would like to invite you to uphold these values together. It is wonderful to see that so many students are already getting involved this weekend and we would like to encourage you to continue to stand up for them.

We would like to recommend that you stay in community this weekend and avoid public transportation in and around Ostritz, including the trains to and from Zittau and Görlitz.
We were very pleased that so many people attended the information event in Görlitz.
