Dr. rer. pol. Falk Maiwald has been the Director of the
Center for Communication and Information (ZKI)
since 1 September 2014. The Central Facilities University Library, University Data Centre and University Language Centre are organizationally anchored under the ZKI as independent structural units of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences at both university locations. The previous director, RD'in Dr. Rosemarie Konschak, has been in early retirement since 28.02.2014. Through her dedicated work, she developed the University Library into a central service and information center for the university. She also initiated the Oberlausitz emergency network and established regular exchanges of experience with libraries across national borders.
Dr. Maiwald has taught marketing, business informatics and general business studies at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences since 2001 and completed his doctorate at IHI Zittau in 2012.
He is now responsible for shaping the further development of the University Library and the two other central facilities at ZKI. He also holds a number of teaching positions at the Faculty of Managerial and Cultural Studies.
