On January 27, 2017, the general meeting of the Saxony University Sports Conference took place at the HTW Dresden. Representatives from 14 educational institutions and guests from the SMWK, LSB and adh accepted the invitation. Fortunately, many student representatives were also present so that they too could engage in a lively exchange. In addition to the annual report, the focus of the event was on the election of a new Executive Board. Prior to this, the two retiring members of the Board and the long-serving Managing Director of LHS Sachsen, Gottfried Matthes, were given a fitting farewell.

In addition to the old new chairman Peter Pausch (HTWK Leipzig), Lars Hass (WSH Zwickau) as 2nd chairman and Philipp Knebel (HS Zittau/Görlitz) as treasurer now complete the board. They are supported by the new Managing Director Julia Freitag, the Education Officer Kerstin Borkenhagen (TU Dresden), the Competition Officer Nick Breuer (HTW Dresden) and the student representatives Hannes Hildebrandt (BA Riesa) and Stefan Schulz (Leipzig University).

We wish the team a successful start to their work, as the first major highlight is already just around the corner: the Saxon University Sports Festival on June 16-17, 2017 in Riesa.
