Collaboration in the WIR "ZukunfTAlter" alliance

GAT signs declaration of participation in the WIR alliance "ZukunfTAlter - Future technologies for successful ageing in rural areas"

The "WIR! - Change through innovation in the region" program provides the impetus for new regional alliances and sustainable innovation-based structural change in all structurally weak regions of Germany.

Funded by the BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research), the AWO Lausitz is leading the project in cooperation with the TU Dresden and the VSWG (Verband Sächsischer Wohnungsgenossenschaften e.V.). Future ageing - "Future technologies for successful ageing in rural areas - an alliance in and for Upper Lusatia".

Transformation processes in the economy and society" are among the profile-forming research/development areas of our university. The management of an ageing population plays a central role in this: In its interdisciplinary research institute "Health, Ageing, Technology" (GAT), research is conducted on almost all of the fields of innovation represented in the "ZukunfTAlter" alliance. The VATI technology navigator and the AAL laboratory at GAT, in collaboration with KommWohnen gGmbH and the East Saxony Geriatric Network, provide advice to the population. The HSZG has been training gerontological management staff for ten years and is currently setting up a nursing degree course. Prof. Hoff on the motivation for the declaration of cooperation

The declaration of participation does not create any personnel or financial obligations; it is purely an expression of interest. It is an offer to be involved in the alliance at a later date, should any relevant topics arise, and to be included in any implementation projects.

Further information on the project can be found here on the AWO Lausitz website and here on the BMBF website.
