The DEAL contract with Springer Nature gives users of the University Library permanent access to the current volumes of all 1,900 Springer journals during the contract period.
The contract runs from 2020 to 2022 with the option to extend until 2023.
According to a press release from the German Rectors' Conference, the contract was signed between the publisher Springer Nature and MPDL Services GmbH on behalf of Projekt DEAL on January 8, 2020.
The contract allows authors from German academic and research institutions to publish their manuscripts in the Gold OA standard in Springer Nature hybrid or OA-only journals. The full text of the agreement will be available on the DEAL project website at the end of January.
A DEAL agreement for the use of publications from the publisher Wiley was already concluded last year.
