Pursuant to Section 74 of the Law on Academic Freedom in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSFG), the position entails the following duties in particular:

• Preparation, delivery, and follow-up of instruction, as well as practical guidance in the Early Childhood Education degree programme, with a focus on
  • child development and education in the motor, linguistic, social-emotional, and cognitive domains,
  • artistic, aesthetic, and scientific educational design,
  • school readiness and support during the early years of schooling, as well as
  • academic research,
• project supervision and student advising.
• Participation in degree programme and faculty meetings (discussions within the degree programme, working group and staff meetings) and in university-wide events.

The following knowledge and skills are required

• A completed university degree in childhood education,
• social, intercultural, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a team, and
• relevant practical experience.

In addition, the following are desirable:

• regional connections, e.g., from practical experience,
• willingness to participate in tasks and activities of other degree programmes and the faculty,
• knowledge of university pedagogy and experience in university teaching or adult education,
• knowledge of university-related structures and processes, as well as
• experience in committee work and public relations.
