What the laboratory is for physics students, the exchange with practitioners is for us who study tourism. Like in the winter semester 2021/22:
Tourism students from the University of Applied Sciences in Görlitz met with the marketing expert from Hotel Emmerich at the Hotel Emmerich. The first thing on the agenda was to marvel at this extraordinary hotel. No matter what we visited, the passion for this hotel could be felt in every corner. The highlight was the roof terrace with a unique view over the rooftops of Görlitz in bright sunshine.
Of course, we didn't just want to look - it was just as important for us to talk to the expert as much as possible. Of course, everyday hotel life is far too complex to cover all topics. That's why we focused on the question:
How do you bring a hotel like this to the market? With purely factual information or rather through an emotional customer approach?
If you are interested in the answer, please take a look at the Emmerich :-)
We also talked about the history of the hotel and the hotel concept. Uncomfortable but crucial questions for the future were discussed:
It was an instructive time at the hotel. Theory and practice came closer together and we all came away with the same insight:
Optimism and passion for what you do are good prerequisites for success!
