On October 5, 2022, 30 interested people visited the University Library in Zittau as part of the Seniorenkolleg to attend the artist talk with the Löbau artists Helga and Ulrich Pilz. Both artists already had an exhibition in the University Library in 2012 and are currently showing new works until the end of the year.

During the tour, Helga Pilz explained the different approaches to watercolors, the use of different papers and experimenting with salt, for example. The colors, their transparency and brilliance are particularly important in watercolor.

Mr. Ulrich Pilz showed some of his photographs, which he divided into three main areas. On the one hand, it is about the documentation of the works of his wife Helga. On the other hand, detailed shots that are hardly visible to the naked eye in the watercolors. Furthermore, nature photography in Upper Lusatia provides a rich selection of motifs.
