The Saxon University Libraries were united in their efforts to develop a new user-friendly interface for users when searching in the catalogs. In a joint project under the leadership of Leipzig University Library and with funding from the European Union, the corresponding catalogs were developed and are also available for use at our university. On September 17, 2013, the Zittau/Görlitz University Library ( HSB) introduced the catalog for research based on the search engine technology VuFind.
In addition to the on-site holdings, it contains electronic books and journals as well as many other licensed and freely accessible online resources with a direct link to the full text. More than 890,000 title references can currently be searched. The catalog will grow steadily through the continuous integration of databases.
As before, the new catalog can be accessed via the search slot on the HSB homepage
or directly via
Catalog research for our users is not only possible from any computer, but now also via all mobile devices. Licensed full texts can be accessed from off campus via the VPN service ( http://hrz.hszg.de/netzzugang/vpn.html ).
If you reserve titles from the catalog from public computers or have logged in to your user account, please make sure that you log out at the end.
Working with the new interface is self-explanatory. However, if you have any suggestions for improving the catalog, please let us know via the forum.
And now: Have fun exploring!
