Clear the stage, raise the curtain! Located in the heart of Görlitz, the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater has been offering its guests a wide range of cultural events since 1851. Musical theater, plays, concerts and dance performances - you can experience it all here! Right next to it is an inviting park, which invites you to linger during the breaks between the theater performances.
Affectionately dubbed the "Little Semper Opera" by the people of Görlitz, the theater is home to plays such as opera, operetta and musicals. Did you know that Lausitz has its very own philharmonic orchestra? It doesn't quite compare to Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie, but you can see for yourself. There is even a dance company here!
There is a lot to see in our theater, especially during the Christmas season. The traditional Christmas concerts and Christmas fairy tales delight the audience every year!
