The activities of the job holder (m/f/d) include the following tasks in particular:

• Conducting experiments in the analytical laboratory on different regionally occurring foliage species,
• Research into the chemical composition of foliage,
• Development of a pre-heating/drying process, a crushing and mixing device as well as a dosing device for pressed foliage granulate,
• Optimization of the technological process through accompanying investigations into properties such as abrasion resistance, moisture content, surface quality, dimensional stability and material characteristics.

The following knowledge and skills are required

• Scientific university degree in the field of biochemistry, biotechnology or process engineering,
• very good knowledge in the application of processes for the digestion of natural fibers,
• sound knowledge, preferably in chemical analysis,
• manual skills for setting up experiments,
• independent scientific approach,
• willingness to participate in vocational training measures and
• theoretical and practical knowledge of the biorefining processes at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.

In addition, the following are desirable

• Experience in the documentation of test results,
• experience in project management and
• routine handling of common office software.
