As nodes in the transmission and distribution grids, power transformers play a key role in ensuring a high quality of energy supply. Taking into account the increasing importance and utilization of the electrical energy grids with regard to the different regenerative feed-in possibilities and load flows, the reliability and quality of the respective equipment must be identified and guaranteed throughout the entire life cycle. In this project, a generic damage and ageing model (digital twin) is to be developed, taking into account the interaction of electrical, thermal, mechanical and chemical stresses. The added value for companies and society is, on the one hand, a more resource-efficient energy conversion and use of operating resources and, on the other hand, securing the energy supply and distribution against the background of the energy transition, especially in the electrical distribution grids.
