As part of the DCS-Monitor II project, you will be involved in non-invasive analyses of the inventory status of transport and storage casks (CASTOR®s) and work on the development of a radiation measurement system. Make a contribution to the safe and environmentally sound handling of the nuclear waste of the future and work with us to advance the state of the art in science and technology in the field of interim storage.

The activities of the job holder (m/f/d) include the followingtasks in particular:

• Simulations of gamma and neutron radiation fields of CASTOR® casks of type 440/84,
• Preparation, execution and evaluation of experimental studies on CASTOR® casks and
• Preparation of reports, documentation and presentation as well as participation in the defense of the results.

The following knowledge and skills are required

• Completed university degree in the field of nuclear engineering, physics or comparable disciplines,
• Several years of experience in the field of simulation of nuclear processes (e.g. MCNP, FLUKA, GEANT4),
• Confident handling of MS Office and scripting languages such as Matlab or comparable,
• proficiency in written and spoken English.
