Faculty EI at the ZuseExpo in Hoyerswerda

Presentation of various software solutions for unmanned aerial vehicles

On October 28 and 29, 2015, the first IT trade fair in Lausitz took place in Hoyerswerda. Prof. Horst Zuse, son of computer pioneer Konrad Zuse, gave the trade fair ZuseExpo its name.

Around three dozen IT providers exhibited their products and solutions. In addition to the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, BA-Bautzen and BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg were also represented.

The Faculty of EI presented various software solutions for unmanned aerial vehicles. The software stack developed by the faculty for abstracting complex flight control systems was of great interest.
Master's student Erik Jähne had realized a simulation using the stack especially for the trade fair to demonstrate the performance of this technology.

The drones not only attracted the interest of the companies, but also pupils and students who were able to try out the complex control of a drone on the simulator for themselves.
