The Fachbereichstag Informatik (FBTI) represents over 60 computer science departments and faculties at universities of applied sciences / universities of applied sciences with a total of over 100 degree programs, around 1,000 professors and more than 30,000 students. It is a competent contact and representative of its members in all aspects of computer science studies at universities of applied sciences / universities of applied sciences in Germany. It seeks dialog with ministries, associations, industry and the public. In particular, it also sees itself as a point of contact for prospective students and students of the various computer science disciplines.
The FBTI communicates its concerns through regular conferences, memoranda and reports, but also through participation in committees and professional associations such as the German Informatics Society, whose guidelines on the structure of computer science degree programs it has played a key role in shaping.
