First EMC seminar in Zittau

Topic: "Electromagnetic compatibility"

As part of the Dies Academicus, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science held a seminar on the topic of "Electromagnetic Compatibility". All students of electrical engineering, employees of the faculty and the IPM as well as participants from companies in the surrounding area were invited to the open event.

Sixteen participants took advantage of the opportunity to learn from experienced practitioners from Würth Elektronik about the basics and applications of inductors in combating EMC problems in circuit designs. Numerous tips from many years of practical experience as well as measurement demonstrations gave the lectures the right spice.

Parallel to the presentations, the participants were able to find out about other topics such as passive electronic components and electromechanical components from Würth using samples, demo boards and information material. This opportunity was very well received during the coffee breaks.

This stimulated many interesting discussions between the participants, which could be continued intensively over lunch.

The series of lectures concluded in the early afternoon with a guided tour of the university's own EMC laboratory. This was an opportunity for representatives from nearby electronics companies to find out about the opportunities available at our university.

This will certainly lead to one or two fruitful contacts for cooperation in the field of electromagnetic compatibility for both sides.

We are already looking forward to the next meeting.
